The Ultimate Guide to Summer Home Decor

Summer is my favorite season. Not only because of the weather, but the summer vibes and colors are my all time favorite. I redecorate my house every season, and summer just so happens to be my favorite theme for decorating. With summer just around the corner, I have compiled the ultimate guide for the best summer home decor.

Bright Colors

Summer is the season for bright colors. There are so many colors that remind me of summer. Blues, pinks, oranges, yellows, and green. You can style these colors with simple decor or a bold statement. Bright colors represent summer perfectly because summer is the happiest season and bright colors just light up your life.

Adding blue accents to your room can give it a beach vibe which screams summer. Adding subtle blue accents to a room with pillows or decor on a table will add so much summer vibes to a room. Wall art also adds so much to a room. Sometimes a bare wall can look good, but it's hard to pull off and makes a room look empty. Blue is a perfect color for summer because it is associated with water, swimming and the beach.

If you are looking for something more bright and summery that reminds you of flowers and happiness, I recommend a combination of pinks, oranges, and yellows. These three colors seamlessly blend together, making the perfect color combo. I think having a color scheme with multiple colors is really what sets a room apart and levels it up. Some people associate pink with a little girls room, but if it is pulled off right, it can be very sophisticated and romantic. Orange is a very bold color but it adds energy and a pop of fun to the room. The shade of orange you choose could make or break the design, so be careful. Of course, yellow is the classic summer color. It can also be overpowering and too bright, so don't make it the main focus of the room. I would leave that for the pink and orange, using yellow as an accent to tie it all together. This is my favorite color combination for summer!

I also love a good green for summer. You can include green in a room so easily by just adding in some house plants. If you are looking to make green the main color of a room, that can also be such a fun color scheme. I think green goes very well with brown so if you have wood furniture, that would be such a pretty room. Honestly, depending on the shade of green, it could work for almost every season. You can't say that about most colors! Green is so versatile and one of my favorite colors for decorating.

Coastal Aesthetic

If bright colors are not for you, look no further than the relaxed coastal style. This style focuses in on white, light blue, and beige which reflect the beach. This style also goes very well with wood furniture. The Coastal Aesthetic is so elegant and fancy while also being so relaxed and it transports me right into an Elin Hilderbrand book.

Stripes are a great thing to add to the coastal style. Blue and white striped curtains or even a rug would look so good in a plain room that you don't know what to do with!

While the coastal style focuses a lot on blues, a room full of whites and beiges can also match the style very well. I would add some blue accents like throw pillows or a wall hanging. Wood and wicker baskets go so well with this style. Filling a wicker basket with a blue throw blanket and pillow is the perfect piece of decor for your living room.

There are so many different variations of this aesthetic, so I know you can find something perfect for you.

Wood Elements

Wood is one of the most versatile elements to use in your home. It can go with any style you are going for. Even a super modern house can fit wood in somewhere. Wood creates such a warm and inviting atmosphere. It went out of style for a few years but I believe it is back and here to stay. It is just such a timeless material and you really can't go wrong.

I love the look of white cabinets, but sometimes wood is the way to go. If wood cabinets aren't for you, a wood coffee table would go so well in your living room. Or maybe a wood dining table. I am also obsessed with hardwood floors. I'm not a carpet person, so hardwood is the way to go. It looks so nice and doesn't get dirty.

There are so many different shades and colors of wood. I know you will be able to fit the timeless piece into your home somehow. Wood also is not just a summer color and can be incorporated into your house all year round.

Conclusion

I hope you were able to draw some inspiration for your summer home from this blog post! Just a quick disclaimer, I am not a professional interior designer so do not take all of this advice exactly. This is just advice and inspiration for you!
